How to Bring Education Into Your Organising

Read the toolkit here.

This workbook is for people who believe that education is part of organising, and want to figure out how to bring learning into the everyday activities of their union or community.

Maybe you’ve seen too many organising efforts shine brightly and then burn out, and you want to know how groups can learn from these experiences. Maybe you’ve read Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed and want to learn how to apply those principles. Maybe your organising feels like it’s constantly responding to emergencies, and it’s hard to build powerful long-term structures.

The methods in this workbook are a starting-point for bringing learning into the most everyday parts of your organising: your meetings, your reports, your conversations. They have all been tested in real organising scenarios and real campaigns.
